Join Lino and the team as they explore the holy trio of Sicilian cooking: mushrooms, chestnuts, and truffles. Sicily is a country obsessed with seasonal and regional produce, and nothing expresses this more than these three ingredients. For thousands of years, Sicilians have patiently waited until fungi season, and then harvested wild mushrooms from the country’s forests – adding the treasures to pastas, sauces, salads, risottos, pizzas, soups and more. Meanwhile, thanks to fertile earth surrounding Mount Etna, chestnuts and truffles can be found in enviable abundance. Chestnuts are the quintessential street food of Sicily, while truffles are the most valued food on earth. The three ingredients all share a flavour profile, which makes this a Chef’s Table degustation such a delightful experience for any food lover.
Join us to celebrate these three ingredients that not only play an important role in Sicilian culture, but also a vital role in the region’s cuisine. The Chef’s Table series is an intimate gathering of food lovers, served multiple courses that showcase seasonal ingredients. Chef Lino will proudly talk about the produce, and loves the opportunity to personally meet guests and share any insights (and anecdotes!).
